Assoc. Prof. Alper Uzun’s Lab just got the supplementary journal cover in ACS Catalysis (I.F. 13.08). The cover art demonstrates the distribution of small and large Cu nanoparticles on a defective CeMgOx surface. The Cu+ sites located near the vacant oxygen sites on the surface can dissociate H2 and offer a high activity for partial 1,3-butadiene hydrogenation, whereas Cu0 sites located on the large nanoparticles cannot.
