Students will develop the skills and knowledge to develop activities regarding comprehensive nursing-care needs based on factors affecting health status, health risks, beliefs and values among members of the family as a unit.
In this course the student will examine the historical development and administative functions in school health nursing, theoretical models and health promotion in school health nursing, primary, secondary, tertiary prevention in the school, evidence-based approach in school health nursing, environmental and health related risks and risk management in the school, health education, technology, communication with students, teachers and families, counselling, emergency planning and policy making.

This course aims to provide proper conditions to prepare the student as a psychiatric nurse in future to give effective, productive and high quality care. Students are expected to gain the skills and knowledge to assess patients with mental disorders, discuss practice reports, identify the ethical and legal issues encountered in practice, evaluate the solutions, assess mental health problems in patients with physical disorders and administer nursing care plans in accordance with the principles and standards of psychiatric nursing.
In this course the student will examine the framework, models, roles and training/education of Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison Nursing (PCLN)including the historical development, roles and practice framework of PCLN,the response of the individual to the illness and nursing intervention; psychosocial care, preparation for death, the needs of the health professional, and the care of the family and individual in life-threatening illness.
The topics discussed in the course are the protection and promotion of health i.e. risk assessment, early diagnosis and prevention for chronic diseases in individuals, families and communities, treatment and care of chronic diseases and its acute and chronic complications i.e. acute pulmonary edema, gastrointestinal bleeding, hypertensive crisis, stroke, acute coronary syndromes, organization of nursing care to provide optimum care in diseases, basic principles of patient and family-centered care, concepts of elderly and fragility, health problems and priorities in elderly people, chronic disease management models, strategies to improve the adherence for disease management, palliative care, complementary therapies, care of individuals who need advanced care and treatment and home care. The aim of this course is to improve the knowledge and skills of the students on improving health-promoting behaviours and the application of individual and community-based interventions for decreasing major biological risk factors i.e hypertension, high blood glucose, obesity as well as planning and implementing nursing care in the areas of medical nursing i.e.emergency unit, internal medicine departments, outpatient settings, home-care settings.

The aim of this course is to help students develop a social science perspective on common issues of health and illness in Türkiye through discussions on how the subfield of anthropology of health and illness became established in the U.S. in the 1970s and how it became institutionalized with different theoretical frameworks in different countries, including Türkiye.
The aim of this course is to explore the different ways in which the human body is classified and differentiated from other bodies, as well as how the bodies are related to gender and sexuality throughout history. Social and cultural conceptions of sick and disabled bodies, how these conceptions interact with medical discourses, and popular body images from various time periods and cultural contexts are also covered.
This course enables the student to examine the methods and techniques used in current nursing practices extensively and to achieve the skill to develop new techniques and methods. Within the scope of the course, examination of basic concepts like science, method, technique, standard and topics on historical development process of science, method of scientific thinking, the concept of technology and evolution process of technology, method development in nursing, process of application for a patent are focused on. The student is expected to develop a prototype of a product/technique/method.

The aim of this course is to teach the basic principles of medical mycology. The course provides deep insight into fungal pathogenesis in infectious diseases. Molecular and classical diagnostic methods, patterns of pathogenesis of main species, and extended antifungal analyzes will be provided. The course will focus on epidemiology, diagnosis criteria for infections due to common and emerging yeasts or filamentous fungi, principles of antifungal therapeutic management, practical guidelines. The assessment of the students will be performed on the basis of their performance in presentations, their participation in discussion of topics and final exam.

This course is non-credit course which the supervisor evaluates the student's thesis work. It covers all the studies and researches to be carried out on the thesis subject determined by the guidance of the advisor and is graded each semester by the advisor.
